Torre di Montebonello

La torre era la guardia medievale dell’antico “castrum”. Rimane l’unico resto di un antico castello che viene ricordato già dopo l’anno mille. Il 16 Febbraio 1944, durante la Secon-da Guerra Mondiale, tre bombe colpirono questa zona, numerose case intorno furono abbattute ma la torre rimase intatta e ancor oggi svetta sull'intera vallata ed è circondata da alcune dimore che formano un piccolo borgo.

Montebonello’s Tower

The church tower was the medieval watch-tower of the ancient “castrum” and is the only remaining part of an old castle of the 11th century. On 16 February 1944, during WWII, three bombs hit this area; many houses were damaged but the tower stood untouched. It still stands today, beautifully surrounded by a group of houses forming a small village.
