Due passi per l’Area Naturale Protetta

L'ANPIL Poggio Ripaghera - S.Brigida - Valle dell'Inferno è una Area Naturale Protetta d'Interesse Locale che si estende per circa 800 ettari sopra l’abitato di Santa Brigida. Compresa fra un’altitudine massima di 914 metri e una minima di 400, l’area presenta diverse specie vegetali e arboree e una ricchezza considerevole di fauna selvatica. Il simbolo dell'A.N.P.I.L. è il Cistus Laurifolius L. (fiore della Madonna) che trova qui l’unica presenza in Italia. Recentemente sono state anche riscoperte le antiche burraie, uno studio ha messo in luce la ricchezza di questa piccola eredità del passato e ha gettato le basi per il loro recupero e la seguente realizzazione del Sentiero delle Burraie. 

A walk around the Natural Protected Area

The Protected Natural Area of Local Interest (ANPIL) Poggio Ripaghera- Santa Brigida – Valle dell’Inferno (Hell Valley) is 800 ha large and it lays over the residential area of Santa Brigida. From 400 meters to 914 meters above sea level, the area collects many different vegetal and tree species and an incredibly rich wildlife. The symbol of the Protected Area is the Cistus Laurifolius (Madonna’s flower), that is only present here and is found nowhere else in Italy. The ancient “butter caves” (burraie) have been rediscovered in recent time. Recent research has highlighted the richness of this small heritage from the past, laying the foundations for their restoration.
